To migrate a program from a legacy editor, download it as a hex file but instead of copying it to your micro:bit, drag and drop it onto the new editor.

Microsoft Blocks/TouchDevelop

  1. In a new browser tab, open the legacy editor or your script at https://www.microbit.co.uk/app and select Blocks (shown here) or touch develop.
  2. In another new tab open the current editor at https://makecode.microbit.org
  3. In your first tab click 'Compile' to download your script as a .hex file
  4. Select your second tab and drag the downloaded file from the Downloads bar (Chrome) into the Blocks edit window and you're done!
