Overview
The micro:bit hex download tool allows you to transfer hex files to one or multiple micro:bits. It functions in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, providing an alternative to the drag-and-drop method for copying your hex file to the MICROBIT drive. The tool can also reset a micro:bit to its factory default settings using the "Meet the micro:bit" hex file. Teachers might find the "Beating heart" hex useful for quickly resetting the micro:bit at the end of each lesson, readying it for the next class.
The micro:bit hex download tool page allows you to select from the most commonly used/requested hex files and also upload your own hex file.
Using the "Upload or drag and drop a hex file here" option, for example, allows you to easily select any other hex file you may need, such as the Scratch micro:bit hex file, which is necessary before you can start using Scratch and the ScratchLink program with your micro:bit.
